ACCOMMODATION in Tampere

The organizers have reserved rooms at the hotels mentioned below. To obtain the special conference rates, bookings must be made on the registration form, which will be put in these pages by the end of January.

If rooms are not available in your first choice hotel, a reservation will be made for your second choice. Buffet breakfast and Finnish sauna are included unless stated otherwise. The room rates are quoted per night per room, including taxes (VAT 8 %). When booking a double room (two persons, two beds) please give your room mate's name. Please make your room reservation as early as possible. We cannot guarantee rooms for late registrations.

All accommodation costs will be paid at check-out directly to the hotel. All hotels require a credit card number when making the hotel reservation. They will debit you one night 's accommodation if you have not cancelled your reservation in advance. All Sokos Hotels will charge the first night's accommodation to your credit card about two weeks before arrival. It is non-refundable in case of a cancellation. Please, make sure you advise your time of arrival on your registration form. If you arrive later than 6 pm and you have not informed Tampere Conference Service or the hotel about a late arrival time, your booking cannot be guaranteed and the cancellation fee (one night) will be charged.

Sokos Hotel Ilves ****
This 18-storey hotel is first class accommodation situated in the heart of the city. The rushing waters of the Tammerkoski rapids and natural scenery are part of the hotel milieu. The hotel is adjacent to the Koskikeskus shopping centre. No extra beds are available. Distance to Tampere Hall: 1 km.

Ramada Hotel Tampere ****
The Ramada Hotel Tampere is a high-level business hotel situated in the centre of town, just across the street from Tampere Hall. Room service and laundry services are also available. Distance to Tampere Hall: 200 m.

Scandic Hotel Tampere ****
A high standard hotel located on the main street in the city centre across from the railway station. Distance to Tampere Hall: 700 m.

A high-class lakeside hotel situated on the outskirts of the city in the middle of Pyynikki Park. Excellent for those who want a peaceful and quiet location surrounded by the delights of nature. City bus stop in front of the hotel, good parking facilities.

Hotel Victoria is located in the center of Tampere, just behind the railway station in walking distance to Tampere Hall. Hotel Victoria offers comfortable accommodation and a variety of additional services. Distance to Tampere Hall: 500 m.

Sokos Hotel Villa ***

Hotel Lapinkaari is a non-smoking economy class hotel near Lake Näsijärvi. Bathroom in every room, TV-rooms and kitchenettes on each floor. Single and small double rooms have adequate furnishing, but are basic accommodation. No telephones in the rooms. There's a bus stop just outside the hotel. Distance to Tampere Hall: 2 km.

Hostel Uimahallin Maja *
A cosy bed-and-breakfast hostel in the city centre. There is a wash-basin in the room, the toilet and shower facilities are in the corridor. Mini-kitchen and TV-room are at your disposal whenever you want. No sauna. Restaurant. Distance to Tampere Hall: 2 km.

Hostel Tampere YWCA *
The YWCA Youth Hostel is located in the center of Tampere, beside the Cathedral. The hostel has 24 rooms, altogether 70 beds. Linen and towels are included, NOT BREAKFAST. Showers and toilets are in the hall. No sauna. The hostel has one TV-room and each floor has a little kitchen. Reception open daily from 8 am-10 am and 4 pm-11 pm only. Check-in time at 4 pm, check-out at 10 am. Distance to Tampere Hall: 1,2 km.

Please contact us by e-mail or fax and indicate the price range or hotel category required and also the date and time of arrival (if after 6 pm). We will make the reservation for you and let you know the details of the hotel in the letter of confirmation. Payments are made directly to the hotel on departure.
There is a room reservation fee of EUR 12 per room.
