information for conference participants travelling to Finland Finnair and SAS have scheduled flights to the conference. For flight schedule and prices, contact the nearest Finnair or SAS sales office, travel agency or visit Finnair's or SAS's www-pages. Finnair has scheduled flights all the way to Tampere Airport. The earlier you book your flights, the lower rates you get! Make also use of the cheaper weekend prices by staying in Finland over Saturday night. TRAVEL LINKS TO FINLAND AND TAMPERE By air Tampere is only 30 minutes from Helsinki (capital of Finland) and 50 minutes from Stockholm (capital of Sweden). Finnair, the official carrier of the conference, has scheduled flights to Helsinki and Stockholm from most major cities in Europe. Moreover, numerous other international airlines offer regular flights to Helsinki and Stockholm. Helsinki and Tampere are connected by regular, fast coach and train services. Trains from Helsinki Railway station to Tampere leave regularly at every hour. The journey takes two hours.
HOW TO REACH TAMPERE FROM HELSINKI AIRPORT? If possible book your flight all the way to Tampere. If not possible, then the most convenient and fastest way to travel from Helsinki airport to Tampere is to use the Paunu Express Bus, which leaves in front of the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport arrivals terminal every hour. The journey takes about two hours. From the Tampere bus station there is the MansePlus connecting transportation which can take you to your hotel. HOW TO REACH TAMPERE FROM TAMPERE-PIRKKALA AIRPORT? Tampere-Pirkkala airport is situated 15 kms from Tampere city centre. The easiest and fastest way to Tampere city centre is to take an Airport taxi, which will take travellers to all hotels in Tampere. The one-way fare is EUR 10.
