The Committees

The Executive Committee is formed by the Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and two Secretaries together, taking care of the association’s daily routines. Coordinator: Ana Cristina Mendes. Members:  Aljosa Puzar, Daren Shi-chi Leung, Tuija Saresma, Evgenia Amey.

The Financial Committee works with issues concerning the budget, funding and membership fees. Coordinator: Tuija Saresma.

The Pedagogical Committee aims to develop activities that offer support for those who (a) study and (b) teach cultural studies, focusing on engaging students/junior scholars, and to provide useful resources on cultural studies pedagogies. The committee deals with the Institute organization: identifying sites, negotiating agreements, working with the local programming committee to develop the event, and administering the assistance scheme for individual ACS members who need support for their participation. Coordinator: Anindya Raychaudhuri. Members: Aljosa Puzar (coordinator for the Institute 2026 organization), Megan Wood, Christina Lee, Timothy Laurie, Daren Shi-chi Leung, Matthias Wieser, Jian Xiao, Evgenia Amey.

The Research Committee aims to highlight cultural studies research done by researchers worldwide. The committee organizes the Virtual Lecture Series of monthly online talks and deals with the Crossroads conference organization: identifying sites, negotiating agreements, working with the local programming committee to develop the conference, and administering the assistance scheme for individual ACS members who need support for their participation. Coordinator: Fan Yang.

The Community/Organizational Committee develops and maintains online resources and channels of communication, and organizes the dissemination of information among ACS members and the wider communities (through mailing lists, website etc.); oversees the Stuart Hall Award.
