The Committees
The Executive Committee is formed by the Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and two Secretaries together, taking care of the association’s daily routines. Coordinator: Ana Cristina Mendes. Members: Helene Strauss, Janneke Adema, Tuija Saresma, Evgenia Amey.
The Conference Committee deals with the Crossroads conference and the Institute: identifying sites, negotiating agreements, working with the local programming committee to develop the conference, and administering the assistance scheme for individual ACS members who need support for their participation. Members: Helene Strauss (coordinator), Tuija Saresma, Fan Yang, Kris Rutten, Daren Shi-chi Leung, Matthias Wieser, Jian Xiao, Evgenia Amey.
The Communications and Membership Committee organises the resources for communication, dialogue and the dissemination of information among ACS members and for the external world (through mailing lists, website etc.). The Committee develops and maintains channels of communication for the ACS, including the Virtual Lecture Series. Members: Gil Rodman (coordinator), Helene Strauss, Aljosa Puzar, Janneke Adema, Timothy Laurie, Marcela Pais Andrade, Jian Xiao, Evgenia Amey.
A separate working group on Journal Linkage is set up to develop the relations to publishers and journals in the field. Members: Janneke Adema (coordinator), Aljosa Puzar, Margie Borschke.
The Financial Committee works with issues concerning the budget, funding and membership fees. Coordinator: Tuija Saresma.
The ACS Development Committee strives to find ways to strengthen the Association in areas of the world where our enrolment is low and/or where formal support for cultural studies scholarship is weak.
